Jinny Howe, who assumed her leadership role as head of U.S. and Canada scripted series in August, has been officially confirmed as the inaugural keynote speaker for this year's Banff World Media Festival. The Banff Summit Series, a central component of the 47th annual festival, is scheduled to take place from June 14 to June 17 at the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel in Banff, Alberta, Canada.

Howe's Extensive Contributions to Netflix's Scripted Content
Having joined Netflix in 2018, Howe previously held the position of vice president of drama series. Her tenure has seen the successful launch of numerous critically acclaimed and popular series, including the Emmy-winning limited series "Beef," the global sensation "Bridgerton," the highly praised "Maid," and the much-discussed "Inventing Anna." Her oversight has also extended to titles such as "The Night Agent," "The Diplomat," "The Lincoln Lawyer," "His & Hers," "XO Kitty," "Sirens," and "Untamed."
Anticipated Projects and Prior Career Achievements
Looking ahead, Howe's upcoming projects at Netflix include adaptations like "Little House on the Prairie," "The Altruists" featuring Julia Garner, and "The Hawk" starring Will Ferrell. Before her time at Netflix, Howe dedicated 13 years to John Wells Television, where she rose to the role of executive VP of television, contributing to successful series such as "Shameless," "Southland," and "Animal Kingdom."
