The eagerly anticipated second season of Netflix's 'Beef' has made its entry into the streamer's Top 10, securing the tenth position with 2.4 million views during its premiere week. This initial performance, however, represents a notable decline when juxtaposed with the first season's impressive debut. Released on April 16, 'Beef' Season 2's viewership data covers the period of April 13-19. To offer a clearer perspective, the inaugural season, launched in 2023, garnered an estimated 5.8 million views in its initial week. This figure was derived from its reported 34.1 million hours viewed divided by its approximate total runtime of 5 hours and 52 minutes. Consequently, the second season's opening views are nearly 60% lower than those of its predecessor. It is worth noting that Season 1 achieved its peak viewership in its second week, accumulating 70.38 million hours, equating to around 12 million views.

Beyond 'Beef', the Netflix Top 10 English language TV chart witnessed other significant movements. Dan Levy's new crime comedy, 'Big Mistakes', ascended to the third spot in its second week, achieving 4.4 million views, an increase from its 2.7 million debut. 'Trust Me: The False Prophet' maintained its dominance at number one for a consecutive week, attracting 6.9 million views. Other prominent entries included 'Salish & Jordan Matter' at number two with 5 million views, 'XO, Kitty' Season 3 at number four with 3 million views, and 'Danny Go!' Season 1 with 2.5 million views.

In the English language film category, the shark disaster thriller 'Thrash' continued its reign at the top for the second consecutive week, drawing in 34.5 million views, a slight dip from its 37.7 million debut. The South African film '180' debuted strongly at number two with 9.5 million views, while the comedy 'Roommates' secured the third position with 8.8 million views.

Meanwhile, in the non-English language TV sector, the French Caribbean thriller 'Bandi' led the Top 10 with 5.2 million views, closely followed by the docuseries 'Ronaldinho: The One and Only' with 4.7 million views. For non-English language films, the Indian production 'Toaster' emerged as the week's frontrunner, accumulating 4.4 million views.

The initial viewership data for 'Beef' Season 2 indicates a considerable drop compared to its first season's strong performance. While other shows and films on Netflix's Top 10 charts continue to find their audience, the performance of 'Beef' will be closely watched in the coming weeks to determine if it can regain momentum and attract a wider viewership.
