Kia and Genesis are initiating a significant recall impacting close to 236,000 vehicles due to a potential defect in the fuel system. The recall stems from separate, but seemingly related, filings made by Kia and Genesis with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) on April 10. The Kia recall targets 141,032 Carnival minivans from the 2022 to 2026 model years. Concurrently, the Genesis recall encompasses 94,760 vehicles across its GV70, GV80, G80, and G90 lines, spanning model years 2021 to 2026. This indicates a systemic issue affecting vehicles produced within a specific timeframe and sharing a common engine architecture.
